Peter Haslop
I was born in Cambridge and moved to Eccleshall with my parents in 1962 completing my education in Stone. I completed a 5 year electrical apprenticeship at Michelin Tyres and later studied at Staffordshire University reading Electronics. I have a predominately engineering background with over 54 years experience in the manufacturing industry and have a vast experience of the energy efficiency and environmental technologies industries. Before joining my current job as the Technical Director I worked for over 8 years with a leading Energy Consultancy. I am a frequent speaker at energy efficiency events and work closely with government on consultations providing guidance and support for new legislation.
The Haslop family have connections with the area spanning over 55 years allowing me a good knowledge of the area and its needs. I am married with three very adult sons and we have lived in Shebdon for over 10 years. My wife Margie Haslop is the Church Warden at St Marys High Offley and also takes an active interest in the Parish. My interests tend revolve around the upkeep of our smallholding with a welcome release for my passion for cycling.
